Chapter Three: Buddha Light on the Royal Lake
Kublai Khan's bows knock the door of Beijing open. Melodies from the prairie
bring ripples to the waters of the Royal Lake. Pure-white silks are presented
to distinguished friends. Mellow wine is offered to guests coming from a
distance. The light of Buddha illumines all things while the guardian warriors
dance, praying for fortune and peace on earth. Graceful goddesses spread
auspiciousness among the host, with their finger prints for every good luck.
